Starting from August 15, 2023, Vietnam has made its e-Visa system accessible to all international tourists. These updates mean that the process of obtaining a visa has never been easier, offering a more direct approach to all foreign visitors and eliminating the need to provide physical applications.
Previously, Vietnam’s e-Visas were exclusively granted to citizens of 80 specific countries, but this change means that it’s never been easier for travellers worldwide to explore the stunning nation. In addition, the duration of the visa has been extended up to a 90-day period, allowing for multiple entries in and out of the country during that time – a notable update from the previous single-entry, 30-day validity! Furthermore, if you’re visiting Vietnam from a country that is visa-exempt, your rules may have changed too! Thirteen visa-exempt nations have had their permissible stay duration upped, from 15 to 45 days.
In a nutshell:
- A selection of specific countries can continue to explore Vietnam without the need for a visa, with their length of stay upped from 15 to 45 days. The countries benefiting from this extension are: the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, South Korea, Russia, and Japan.
